Three Generations of Stonemasonry
The family tradition of stonemasonry began with grandfather Alojz (born 1919) in 1965. Today, Kamnoseštvo Erjavec, based in Kočevje, is run by skilled stonemasons and restorers, brothers Aleš and Matej, under the mentorship of their father Alojz (born 1955).
Their in-depth knowledge of stone-processing technology, meticulous attention to detail, and persistence are the key to the flawless execution of projects—from the initial idea to the final installation.
They consistently invest in new technological equipment and acquire new skills, maintaining competitiveness and increasing added value for their clients.
The grandfather learned the trade in Štalcerji near Kočevje, where all production was initially carried out outdoors. He started with concrete products, including manual grinding and casting, before transitioning to marble and granite processing.
Alojz Erjavec (born 1955) took over the company in 1980, building a house and workshop for processing natural stone with his father that year. Investments in advanced machinery enabled them to tackle more demanding projects while improving quality in simpler tasks.
The company’s location has always been Mahovnik 76 in Kočevje. They remain the only stonemasons in the broader Kočevje area, from the Croatian border at Kolpa to Velike Lašče, Sodražica, and Novo Mesto.
Kamnoseštvo Erjavec is proud to preserve the tradition of stone craftsmanship. Stone products are durable, and they prioritize quality control throughout the process—from material procurement to production, installation, and maintenance.
They are always ready to provide advice and deliver quick, high-quality results for their clients.
