From a largely hand-powered craft, where the stone was laboriously ground and moved by hand, today various time-saving technologies and machines have significantly reduced costs and contributed to a global industry. This was a major factor in the development of the use of stone not only in the household, but also elsewhere.
The history of the Liberec quarry begins much earlier. Specifically, in 1910. Over the years, it passed through the hands of, for example, master stonemason Josef Lange or the Liebig family. It found itself in the ownership of the city and state-owned enterprises, until in 1992 the management took over LIGRANIT.
Since then, we have been helping you to realize projects using Czech granites as well as imported granites and marbles. We implement designs by sculptors, architects, designers and your own. Even the smallest project deserves our attention.
And what are we rightly proud of? Current projects include a fountain made of Liberec granite on the square in Jindřichův Hradec, designed by academic sculptor František Häckel, and a fountain made of Liberec granite on the square in Jablonec nad Nisou. In Jablonec, we are also behind the reconstruction of the theater, for which we used Železná Brod granite.
We take our mission honestly. We approach the work of our stonemason predecessors with humility and we know that tradition is not a given. Thanks to this, we can offer you a product that we are not afraid to stand behind.
