A complete machine range: Breton diamond wire saws are available in a vast range of models to meet all kinds of production requirements. The range goes from 20-wire machines to 71-wire machines, with a number of intermediate models. It is possible to choose machines to use with 6.3 mm diamond wire, or machines to use with 7.3 mm diameter diamond wire. It is also possible to choose machines that cut a preset nominal thickness of 20 mm, or machines that cut a preset nominal thickness of 30 mm, or machines that cut a variable nominal thickness of 20 mm and more (20, 30, 40 mm ...).

This is a head that can be equipped with felts or brushes for the last level of finishing, giving an excellent brilliance to the material. The head works exclusively in combination with a special spindle with two inverters.

Breton Multicut is a programmable multi-spindle automatic saw with a revolving worktable and is designed for cutting both natural and engineered stone slabs to any required size.
Breton Multicut is designed and developed to offer high-production and cutting performance combined with improved operational flexibility and a sophisticated and advanced slab optimisation system.
The work cycle - longitudinal cuts, work-table rotation, transversal cuts - is fully automatic and computer managed. Slab loading and product unloading operations can be automated to meet specific requirements. Precise and accurate cutting. The work cycles are programmed on the machine monitor and can be stored and then recalled whenever required. Depending on slab thickness, the slab can be cut in plunge-cut or step-cut mode. The “scanner” system scans the shape of the slab and records surface defects, and a special software elaborates and defines the best cutting cycle based on the slabs available and work orders programmed in the system. The result is maximum production optimisation.

Breton Multicut can in real time optimise slab surface by automatically selecting the most appropriate cutting cycle to process the work orders previously programmed in the computer system which controls and manages the production line.
When slabs are fed-into Breton Multicut, a scanner scans the shape and size of the slabs and the operator can mark out any defects, holes or cracks in the surface. Based on the information transmitted by the scanner and on the programmed work orders, a purposely developed software manages the machines and equipment forming the production line simultaneously. This software can also receive work orders through a local access network from the office PC. The work order can include diverse formats of tiles which are identified in the order utilising just the measurements for length and width. For each format the required quantity is defined and is automatically updated based on the number of cutting cycles for each slab processed until the order is completed. Slab cutting, based on the information received from the scanner, is optimised to reduce waste. Even slabs with surface defects such as holes, stains, marks etc. are optimised using this system. The scanner records the defects of the slabs and
sends prompts to the software only if the defects have been previously marked out by the operator who simply positions over the defect (whether it is a hole, stain, crack etc…) a piece of non-reflecting matt material (e.g. standard household carpet). When the slab passes under the scanner, the scanner
reads the covered areas as if part of the slab is missing identifying these zones as part/s of the slab which cannot be utilised in production. Prompts are then sent to the main system PC and the software elaborates the information and defines the best cycle to optimise production. The operator removes the material used to cover the defects which can be reused or thrown away. The information is then graphically displayed on the monitor indicating the percentage of material processed. And the waste produced….. There are several cutting and optimisation options: For sawing strips (longitudinal or transversal or mixed) the system will automatically standardize the cutting pattern so as to reduce the machine’s cycle time for very complex cutting patterns. This function brings together, where possible, strips having the same cuts so that they can be sawn in a single work cycle.

Numerical control bridge saw with 5 interpolated axes for cutting slabs of marble, granite and agglomerate up to 250 mm thick by means of a disc with max. diameter of 725mm. Accurate and sturdy, it is perfect for executing very quickly the cut of polygonal shapes even if complex. It assures high speed of working thanks to translations on ball bearing guides. It is controlled by a Fanuc numeric control and executes works by means of the interpolation of up to 4 axes at a time.

The ADVANCE version, considered as the evolution of the NEXT 1200, differs for the more advanced electronics, the big colour touch screen control panel and the StoneLab software. The machine can perform advanced cuts and complex shaping operations with disc.

Featuring the possibility to work both as a saw and a contouring machine, the EXCEL FC is made in the version with disc of 1000 mm in diameter, run of the Z axis of 1200mm and motor of 30 kw. The electrospindle that can use fingerbits, shaped tools and cutting discs represents the hearth of the machine. The possibility to rotate from 0 to +370 and to incline the head from 0 to 180 automatically, along with the high degree of accuracy of the movements and high speed, assure complex processing in an accurate and quick way.

The edge-polishing machine BORDI T804 and BORDI T604 are completely automatic machines that, thanks to their versatility, allow to easily range from the plain step to kitchen countertops. These machines, made of a thick steel study structure, are carefully ground in all the parts, and then assembled after being electro-welded, sandblasted and treated with special painting systems. The belt slides on ground stainless steel plates of 12 mm, and is guided by a double self-greasing belt allowing different types of processing without the use of the guiding bar. The protection guards and the electric board are made of stainless steel. The moving parts of the machine are constantly lubricated by means of an automatic greasing system. The advanced electronics manage each spindle in the different kind of processing, as for example the partial polishing of the edge, the choice of the abrasive diameter and the possibility to polish irregular shapes.

The IMAGESHARE system can be supplied in the MATRIX 4.0 variation, as an alternative to the standard linear scanning system, with a state-of-the-art matrix detecting system with high resolution, capable of assuring the highest standards of chromatic reproduction. Thanks to the sophisticated lighting system which reduces the necessary exposure time for detecting images and prevents any reflex also on the most difficult materials, slabs do not need to be slowed down or stopped when going through the machine.

Waterjet Corporation is the well-known Italian company that has been producing for many years waterjet cutting machines used in the stone and metal machining fields, the latter being a sector which requires top performances and precision.
In order to complete its range of machines for natural and compound stone processing fabshops, Breton entered into a cooperation agreement with Waterjet Corporation aimed at marketing and supplying their cutting machines, all of which are precise, powerful, fast and offer the possibility of being equipped with a pump of up to 6200 bar.

Accessories
Another optional outfit is the I.T.C.? system that corrects the natural tapering of the cut by compensating the high pressure water jet through the Numerical Control. The I.T.C.? system guarantees the realization of top quality products. When the compensation of the I.T.C.? system is running, the water jet is also directed against the advance direction so as to minimize the so-called “tail effect”, thus reducing the acceleration and deceleration ramps near the corners for a faster and more economical cutting cycle.
The optional KMT Streamline PRO pump with a maximum pressure of 6200 bar can be supplied as an alternative to the KMT Streamline pump of 4.130 bar. With 6200 bar, other conditions being equal, the cutting speed increases remarkably and the cutting cost per linear metre is cut down.
Head with 5 interpolated axes for inclined cutting required, for instance, to obtain the 45° grooves. C axis with 450° rotation and A axis with +/- 69° inclination. This device can be equipped with ITC system for automatic jet tapering compensation and with continuous rotation.
Details
The movement accuracy of each single machine is tested and checked through laser and Renishaw ball bar test.
The walls of the tank are made of stainless steel, while its bottom consists of a steel plate 8 mm thick.
The axes movements are through hardened helical racks and pinions (Alpha Wittestein, Germany) and linear slideways with preloaded bearings (Bosch Rexroth).
WaterCad? is the software specially developed for the 2D processing; it generates simply and quickly any cutting path with a variety of options: automatic looping and tags insertion, automatic standard cut, small bridges for a one-run cut.
Using WaterCad?, it is possible to select the quantities and different pieces to be inserted in one or more slabs. The Automatic Nesting function is much helpful for optimizing production and minimizing waste.
