TERRAZZO grinding machine is intended for grinding mosaic, marble and concrete floors and it is used in industrial construction and civil engineering.
The major components of the machine are: electric motor, reduction gear, two traverses, and the running gear. The electric motor is connected to electricity mains via the protective cut-off device (PCD) and it is started and stopped with the help of the rotary switch.
The rotational motion is transmitted from the gear to the meshing toothed wheels. The meshing toothed wheels transmit the rotational motion to the traverses in different directions that ensures machine stability.
The traversers are driven by electric motor via the reduction gear and revolve in different directions.
The running gear and control unit are attached to the reduction gear body with the help of axle and bracket. BIROTO is the sander in the photos below with two three-phase motors and two abrasive discs. It is used to sand marble, granite (with water) and even wood floors.
It is also equipped with an inverter that allows it to be used in apartments with the simple 220 v to vary the revolutions at will and reverse the rotation.
Obviously, being a machine with two motors and two plates, it develops a large amount of work, already much higher than a three-phase satellite machine with an abrasive consumption at least half compared to it.
The two abrasive-carrying discs are counter-rotating and so the BIROTO turns out to be absolutely neutral and stable, it doesn't pull anywhere, and is therefore very easy to drive. The machine is patented by us, as it has innovative features:
the two abrasive-holder plates can rotate (even with the machine in operation), together with their motors with respect to a central axis placed between them, so that the machine can assume a minimum frontal space, very contained in order to pass through doors (lit while it is working) or be loaded even in small elevators.
quite simply, it is the only machine for grinding and polishing floors that CAN VARY ITS WORKING WIDTH FRONT ON THE MOVE, ON.
The BIROTO normally with the two discs side by side has a working width of 92 cm (and it is easy to understand that with this width, even large rooms are quickly sanded or polished), then without turning off or disassembling the machine, the indicated lever is pushed. in the photos and it takes on a working width of only 46 cm.
In this configuration the machine passes, always in operation, through doors and then puts it back in an instant, after having passed them in the maximum working position; obviously the machine shrinks to the smallest position even when it has to be loaded, because obviously a 92 cm wide machine does not fit into any lift.
The photos highlight these characteristics by specifying that the model represented has not mounted its water tank, the black box that can be seen on the back is the inverter.
BIROTO has a minimum rotation of 90 rpm therefore crystallization is also carried out with it; with the enormous advantage, however, that crystallizing is as if we were conducting two single disc machines together, given its width of 92 cm.

This revolutionary sander for floors in marble, granite, stoneware, terrazzo, concrete etc. has a unique processing system, completely different from the classic rotating discs, which allows it to do the work of two three-phase satellite sanders together, with a very low cost of the abrasive.
It works with an abrasive cylinder 30 cm wide and 10 in diameter which rotates resting on the floor to be worked up to 2300 rpm. in this case the specific weight exerted by the roller is enormously greater than that of the classic sanders with round discs; the result is a very high abrasive action of this roller and in order to manage and control it, it was necessary to use the inverter to vary its revolutions (in addition to the other advantages that its use entails).
The abrasive cylinders are available in grits from 46 to 3000, their duration is enormous, on average 4500-5000 m2 with an abrasive cost of 2.5 euro cents / m2.

The DRUM STONE works with water but we also have a version with a vacuum cleaner to work dry; the roller is changed in 90 seconds by loosening a simple bolt.

Compared with heavy and bulky American three-phase sanders (with about 9 kw of power and 250-280 kg of weight) it was always decidedly faster.
In a marble floor where there are deep scratches that you would normally eliminate by passing a 60 if not 30 grit, with the DRUM STONE insisting a few seconds really, you can eliminate them with a 200 grit even 400.
On an average striped marble or terrazzo floor it is possible with DRUM STONE to start with a 400 grain and that's it, then polish
