It is one of a kind machine as it combines the typical features of a milling cutter and those of a work center/contouring machine. The Parametrix software and the wooden overbench, allow to perform cutting operations as a traditional milling cutter; the KRONOS range, compared to the traditional working centers, is the sole solution offering specific software for simple and intuitive cutting. CALIBRATION UNITS
- Calibrator spindle made with heavy steel metalwork with rectified chromeplated sleeve, that slides through cast iron bushing to absorb vibrations during processing. On the spindle plate where it serves as a flywheel and is dynamically balanced, there are calibrator rings with diamond sectors installed on them (Ø 670-870-1050 mm). Electric drive can be 22 or 30 kW.
- An automatic system combined with motor absorption acts on conveyor speed, slowing it in case of excessive overload, making the spindle stop and automatically lift. The spindle is automatically repositioned with absolute precision when the operating cycle starts back up again. The calibrator is managed from the touch screen for all of its automatic and manual functions. Automatic positioning at the pre-selected height with centesimal precision.
POLISHING UNITS
- Cast iron polishing spindles, installed in the centre of the beam, with thick and rectified chrome-plated steel shaft, sliding on bronze bushing, complete with pneumatic cylinder for lifting abrasive carrier plate.
Each spindle is fitted with a pressure gauge to control pressure and counter-pressure to balance the head during the work.
- Motors. 7.5 or 11 kW motors with single or sequential start-up. Drive transmission through high-output pulleys and belts.
- Ø 470/510 aluminium alloy polishing plates complete with Frankfurt fittings for seven abrasives. They are equipped with a multidirectional shock absorbing system to ensure maximum operating homogeneity and efficiency of the abrasive.
- Automatic centralised lubrication system of the spindles with the possibility of setting quantities and intervention.
- Abrasive finished. The machine is equipped with a system to set the thickness of the piece being processed based on which, a sensor installed on each head, calls the attention of the operator to replace the abrasive, when finished.

SUPERNOVA B065GV is equipped with operational elements that have been individuated, rendered efficient and reliable as a result of an experience which has matured throughout the technological evolution of more than 1000 machines manufactured in the past 25 years by PEDRINI. SUPERNOVA B065GV, that has been upgraded with exclusive technology, achieves top level productivity, quality and flexibility whilst reducing consumption, maintenance and depreciation.
Exclusive polishing heads drive technology that reduces energy and abrasive consumption and eliminates maintenance. The polishing heads are operated through patented ROTOR direct drive spindles assembled in the centre of the mobile beam and equipped with an easy-to-use individual device for the precision centring. The direct drive, that works without transmission belts and grooved shafts, avoids radial stress on the spindle bearings, increases their life significantly whilst saving about 15% of the absorbed energy, eliminates maintenance. All spindle components have the centre of gravity on the spindle rotation axis and their considerable weight, that includes the motors and is controlled by counter-pressure, stabilizes the polishing heads action. Owing to this, ROTOR spindles ensure optimal operating conditions thus enabling the heads to achieve the best polishing quality with the lowest tools consumption.
Exclusive polishing technology for granite. The polishing action is performed by Pedrini patented heads, that drive the abrasive supports in a sequential way with high frequency pendular motion. The heads mechanism comprises high precision large dimension components that operate in oil bath at very low speed with no components wear in time. This manufacturing technology, that reduces to zero the clearance in the supports pendular motion, realizes abrasives maximum efficiency and eliminates the maintenance. BUTTERFLY B416 is a robot equipped with sucker plate, that was designed for feeding and unloading operation on slabs polishing lines. Processing cycles, that are programmed through PLC, can control up to 4 movement axes, sucker plate has up to 180° rotation capacity. The operational elements, that are stressed only through slabs weight traction and that move along overhead track ways, create no ground space obstruction and provide extreme stability. Machinery Function Features:
The machine equipped with two spindles, slides on rails while the material to be polished is placed on a cement surface. The finishing of slabs takes place in different passages, replacing the abrasives (with increasingly thinner grains) at each passage. Once the working cycle is concluded, the machine automatically goes back to the initial position. Thanks to the absence of barriers on the operator’s side of the machine, the loading and unloading operations of the material turn out to be especially easy.
