The SNM-TB occupies less space than rival block cutting machines and it is provided with an automatic slab unloading system which enables to eliminate dead times due unloading operations by the operator. Furthermore, the unloading system allows to horizontally unload the slab directly on the following machine without any lateral movement.

Frame is made up of:
- 4 steel structural work columns, connected by sturdy crosspieces at the top
- Bridge support guides with interchangeable sliding surface protected against seepage and dust by "gooseneck" labyrinths.
- Augers with diameter of 80 mm for vertical movement.
Vertical movement of the bridge-guides is controlled by a brushless motor to guarantee regular and precise movements.
Bridge is in thick steel structural work, double crosspiece, counterdeflection machined to guarantee perfectly flat cuts; the bridge movement takes place on sliding blocks in oil bath and is controlled by precision gearings for perfect positioning.
During the cutting stage, the bridge is firmly locked by oleodynamic brakes. Transversal movement of the bridge is controlled by a brushless motor to guarantee regular and precise movements.
Spindle Carriage closed box structure extremely rigid to avoid vibrations during the cutting operation.
- Version "1300" uses disks with a maximum diameter of 1300 to obtain strips with height upto 45.8 cm (1.5 feet); it is possible to fit up to 32 disks to obtain 12 mm thickness.
- Version "1600" allows to obtain strips with height up to 61 cm using "step cutting" system with disks diameter 1000 and 1600. It is possible to fit up to maximum 14+14 disks to obtain 12 mm thick strips.
Motorized block bench controlled by low voltage motor, to comply with accident prevention rules.
Control Panel easy to read, allows fast entry of all the processing parameters. The operation cycle, fully automatic, is controlled by a PLC logic.
The machine, equipped with an automatic unloader with suction cups, allows to have a fully automatic working cycle, from strip cutting to stocking on pallets.
The intervention of the operator is required only for data entry and prearrangement of the machine in the various operation stages.
The PLC programme is continuously updated to follow the evolution of the tools and operation techniques. It also has some special functions, such as:
- Function TS (Time Saving): The work feed is given during the final portion of the cutting stroke eliminating dead times at reversals.
- Function SA (Speed Adjustment): The feed speed of the spindle has inlet and outlet ramps with adjustable acceleration and duration so that the "entry" and exit from the material can be smooth.
- Function DS (Dual Speed): Allows automatic carriage speed passage from the initial low value, which avoid disks deviation, to the normal operation one, as soon as the depth value preset by the operator is reached.
- Function SLS (Software Limit Switches): The limit switches of the spindle carriage are presettable via software, directly from the panel. This keeps the operator from carrying out difficult and at times dangerous manoeuvres on the machine.

Taurus-80 has a special design that transforms marble, beige, basalt blocks and rubble into slabs with minimal waste.
Corrosion which shortens the life span of machines due to water and dirt, is prevented via hot-dip galvanizing. 400-500°C hot-dip galvanize reaches to every spot that regular dye might fail to cover and lengthens the life span of the machine up to 100-120 years by preventing corrosion. Two block cars and a transfer car are hot-dip galvanized as well.
A rigid, vibration free structure is the well-known key for a precise cut. Connecting rods,
eccentrics and bearings are made of monoblock steel casting. This feature promises
precise cut. It is proven with an interesting test which is recognized as a challenge in stone
industry: When a coin is placed vertically on a high point of a gangsaw where it is likely
to vibrate the most, it stays stable even during fastest cutting mode.
Although swinging system is proven to be superior to other systems worldwide, monoblock cast steel swing arms are unique to Toksel. Connecting rods which are usually made of weld platinum, are also made of monoblock cast steel in Taurus-80.
Another feature that provides precise cutting is PLC system which offers various modes for
cutting. For instance you can produce slabs from smaller unshapely rocks and rubbles with
minimum wastage in sensitive mode.
To prevent tremendous damages due to cracks in stone blocks, Taurus-80 quickly stops thanks to switches in the front and back. Toksel is the first to use 132 kw. inverters to make this emergency stop and a smooth start possible.
When it comes to energy saving, besides the advantage of the friction-free swinging system, Toksel added high efficiency IE3 motors.
Unlike other gangsaw machines, Taurus-80 has automatic lubrication system instead of manual lubrication. Since the water valves are usually located inconveniently on the top of the machines, staff often forget to shut it off. Another admirable feature of Taurus-80 is automatic water valve.
